Kitchen, utility and playroom in a beautiful Georgian house

Project Details

Claredon House is a beautiful Georgian house with grand rooms and high ceilings, all apart from the kitchen which was rather small and more like a service kitchen than the grand style you might associate with this style of property.

An extension was added with vaulted ceilings and full height glazed end wall. The client was originally opposed to moving the AGA which was in the corner of the old chimney breast, however having shown them how the kitchen would really have the ‘wow factor’ if we could move it and centralise with a canopy over the top, this actually created the perfect symmetry.

With the extension added it was important to integrate the two rooms so they wouldn’t feel separate and we did this using the island and the light bar above flowing through the both rooms to connect them.

This now has turned into one of our favourite kitchens and the customer has told us many times that they are so glad they listened to the designer with regard to moving the AGA.

Customer Feedback

From design through to craftsmanship and fitting, the whole service was professional but friendly and the finished product is even better than anticipated. My builder said the quality of workmanship and fitting was the best he had seen. Robbie was brilliant to work with.
